I have been fortunate to meet and photograph amazing people. They tell me their stories, which in turn inspire my writing. I venture to some of the most remote places on earth to document the lives and work of women. Over the years I've learned to let my subjects decide how they wish to be photographed. Some are fine with letting me take many shots until they relax and forget I'm there. Others prefer to pose proudly, regally. I've also learned that men and children refuse to stand aside. They want their turn in the limelight.
I capture images in countries throughout Africa, Asia, and the Americas as well as in Madagascar. My images have been exhibited in galleries in Wisconsin, New Jersey, and New York, and are in private collections around the world. A collection of my Madagascar images is housed at Wilderness Travel in Berkeley, CA.
